Following the successful organisation of the Coaches’ Symposium on the fringe of the 25th IHF Men’s World Championship held in France in January 2017, the French Handball Federation is organising a similar event to take place during the upcoming Women’s EHF EURO 2018. The first edition of Education International Handball will be held from December 13 to 16, “with the aim of creating a perennial event, a permanent thinking university of world handball,” as outlined on the official site of the conference.

The focus at the Education International Handball event will be on coaching, though referees and administrators will also find some benefit. The schedule includes conferences, training sessions, round table discussions, workshops and testimonials focused on the central themes of innovation, show and performance.

A number of prominent figures in both French and international handball will feature as speakers at the event, each chosen for their contribution to the development of handball. Speakers include both coaches of the 2018 men’s Champions League finalist teams, Patrice Canayer (Montpellier HB) and Thierry Anti (HBC Nantes); Ministry of Sports ‘Performance 2024’ Director and former France coach Claude Onesta; manager of the FFH women’s performance plan Eric Baradat; current France men’s team co-coach Guillaume Gille; President of the French Handball Federation Olivier Girault; and coach of the Besancon women’s team Raphaelle Tervel.

The Education International Handball will take place at the new Handball House in Creteil, Paris and registrations are now open. More information can be found on the official site of the event.
