The official song of the 26th IHF Men’s World Championship, performed by Danish DJ Kongsted and German singer Dominik Klein, was released on Friday. The song, Stand Up – Stand Out, will be the official anthem of the championship hosted by Germany and Denmark, beginning on January 10 and running through until the 27th.

“There is no party without music, so what better opportunity to bring a German and a Danish artist together, to create our official song,” said chairman of the German Handball Federation Mark Schober.

Singer Klein shares his name with 2007 handball world champion Dominik Klein, who will also play a significant role at the World Championship, as one of the ambassadors for the event. The singer is only beginning his career and Stand Up – Stand Out is his first single.

“Music takes people to different modes and it connects people. At the championship we will celebrate the sport, the talents, the hard work, the achievements and of course the supportive fans. Full arenas with the best handball in the world needs a song that gets us all excited and ready to party,” said Klein ahead of the song’s launch.

Klein and Kongsted will perform the song live in Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin at the opening match between Germany and United Korea on January 10, as well as at the final in Herning on January 27.
